At long last, ang na-miss nating lahat na si RICO YAN ang featured star in our On-The-Spot Q&A for this week. Noon pa namin gustong i-Q&A si Rico but as we all know, medyo naging busy siya sa kanyang iba’t ibang business endeavors at medyo sa Saan Ka Man Naroroon lang siya naging visible.
But this time, Rico told us na he’s really back at talagang magko-concentrate na raw siya sa kanyang nanlamig na showbiz career, now that his businesses are all doing okay na. Last Saturday ay nag-start na ang bonggang miniseries ng ABS, ang Star Drama Presents..Detour

Medyo offbeat ang role ni Rico sa Detour at first time niyang gumanap ng isang kakaibang papel. He plays the role of Carl, an eccentric and notorious womanizer na may pagka-weirdo at mahilig magpaiba-iba ng look. Kakaibang Rico talaga siya rito dahil weird manamit ang kanyang character at mahilig pang magsuot ng wig. But he says he’s so excited about it dahil very interesting and mysterious ang role niya, and it’s his first time to be handled by acclaimed director CHITO ROÑO.
He’s hoping na by next year ay makagawa na raw siya ulit ng movies because it’s been a
while since we last saw him on the big screen. At 25, Rico feels he still has a long way to go as far as his businesses and his showbiz career are concerned. Same thing with his personal life, magpapayaman daw muna siya before he gets married. Basta as of the moment, he’s
enjoying his relationship with GF CLAUDINE BARRETTO.

1.What’s-your morning ritual?
“Brushing teeth, freshening up, going to the bathroom, taking a shower, dressing up, eating
breakfast... leavel”
2.Describe yourself when you’re just at home.
“Asleep! When I’m at home, tulog ako. Pag gising ako, nagbabasa ‘ko ng mga kung anu-anong libro, mga current issues, mga mags like Modern Art, ganun. Ang suot ko during the night, always boxer shorts ‘tsaka sando. Pag daytime, walking shorts ‘tsaka de-kuwelyo na T-shirt.”
3. What do you enjoy most about being a single?
“The ability to think of yourself and yourself alone. Kasi when you’re married na, you think of your children first, eh, di ba? You think of your wife, you think of others. When you’re single, you just think of yourself...”
4. lf you don’t have to work for a week, what would you do?
“Pupunta ‘kong Subic! Magbababad ako do’n, matutulog kakain. May resthouse kasi sa Subic ang pamilya namin, eh. Wala namang gumagamit, so me-urge kaming magpipinsan na ‘pag wala kaming ginagawa, eh, pumunta kami do’n para ma-maintain naman namin ‘yung place.
‘Yun ang ginagawa namin. Kung anu-ano naman kasi ang puwede mong gawin sa Subic, eh. You can hike there, you can enjoy water sports, marami”
5. What's one thing that you can't leave the house without?
"Wallet! Nand'n 'yung lahat ng personal items ko, eh...mga identification, my money, calling cards, credit cards, lisensiya siyempre..."
6. What’s one thing you can keep doing for 24 hours straight?
"Manood ng pelikula! Sa G4 or pagdating ng bahay, manood ng tapes, di ba? Basta pelikula lang...”
7. What's the most expensive thing you ever bought?
"Siguro maong! Levi's 501. Kuripot ako, eh! (Smiles) Sige ano na lang, DVD player. Uy, kinse mil 'yun, ah! 'Yung kotse ko kasi, hand-me-down sa 'kin ng kapatid ko, eh! Ang pinakamahal ko namang binigay kay Claudine...handbag yata, Oleg Cassini! Mga P2,500 yata 'yon! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
8. If your mom were to describe you in three words, what would those be?
“Lovable, huggable, kissable? Three words ‘yon, di ba? 0 sige, caring, loving, understandingl Ano, ayaw mo pa ba no’n? 0 sige, makulit, batugan ‘tsaka matakawl”
9. It you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
“Sa ugali ko? Siguro my seriousness in life. Masyado ‘kong serious pagdating sa life, oh. Life should be taken sometimes seriously, but most of the time lightly, di ba? Physically, I accept myself the way I am. if I’ll change one thing, siguro sana mas maliit nang konti ‘yung ulo ko. Kung titingnan mo 'ko anatomically, mas malaki ‘yung ulo ko for my body. Kaya mas maganda siguro kung mas maliit ‘yung ulo ko nang konti? 0, seryoso ko, ah?”
10. It you could be any animal in the whole wide world, what would you be?
“Bird? (Laughs) I would be an eagle siguro. I think it’s any rvlan’s dream to defy gravity and to fly, so I want to experience flying?”
11. If you could do anything outrageous, what would It be?
“No limits, no rules? Siguro magpapakain ako sa pating? 0 kaya ano..~ang hirap, huh? 0 sige Ito, I’d come up to ViCKY MORALES and I’d tell her that I’m in love with her? Crush ko ‘yun,
eh? Sasabihin ko na mahal ko siya. In love akoo sa kanya! Oo, alam ni Claudine ‘yon...
“I like her because physically, she’s attractive. She dresses very, very well. Intellectually,’she knows a lot, she has a lot of substance. And think she’s the type of girl na you can talk to for three days straight and not know everything about her. I haven’t met her, sa TV ko pa lang
siya nakikita. She is what every girl in the world should be? But It’s just pure admiration...”
12. If you were the president of this country, what would you do?
“A president is a servant of the people, the people should be the primary and utmost concern, so all efforts must be exerted towards the betterment of the lives of the Filipino public. Number one, I’d increase the budget for agriculture so that we can have food security and allocate a bigger budget on education to increase the learning capacity of the grassroots generation.
“I think those are the two that are necessary. Siguro as far as trade and industry is concerned, attract more foreign investors and give them a bigger stake in partnership so we can have more capital influx dito sa country, thereby oroviding more jobs to Filipinos.”
13. If you can get trapped with three women in an elevator for six hours straight, who would they be?
“Princess Diana, if she were alive. I want to know the reason why she’s so loved. First hand, I want to experience why she’s soloved, I'll talk to her for six hours! Second, it would be NICOLE KIDMAN. Hindi ko siya kakausapin, titigan ko lang siya, sasabihin ko lang sa kanya. 'Ang ganda mo!' (Smiles) The third would be Claudine. Sasabihin ko, 'Hoy maghanap ka ng paraan para makaalis tayo rito!' Siya 'yung aking security blanket, eh, para hindi ako mag-freak out. Gagawa kami ng paraan para makaalis kami do'n."
14. What part of your body are you most proud of?
“My legs? People say that they look good for a guy. They’re not chicken legs, they’re kind of big. Some people say malaki, some people say katamtaman lang. Yeah, it’s hairy-hairy...” -
15. What do you wear to bed?
"Boxer shorts 'tsaka sando. Minsan boxer briefs 'tsaka sando. Hindi pa 'ko nag-nude. Sabi nila weird daw 'yung feeling nang walang suot, eh. I mean, it feels good naman to have an undergarment on, di ba?"
16. What's your shirt size/pants size/shoe size?
“Shirt Large, pants 32, shoes 9 1/ 2”
17. What turns you on?
"Intellectual capabilities! And also the nape of the girl, 'yung batok, 'yung toes, I like the toes, and the legs..."
18. Who was the last person who saw you naked?
“Si Rebecca, katulong namin. Pumasok sa kuwarto ko, oh? ‘Yaaahhh?’ Ha? Ha? Ha? Hal Last week yata ‘yen. Kakaligo ko lang nu’n, oh. Eh, nakabukas yung pinto, ang bobo ko, I left it open...I was naked in my room, so ‘yon?”
19. If you weren't in showbiz, what would you rather be doing?
"Siguro I'd be a chef. Masarap 'yung feeling na you know a lot about food, 'di ba? Plus points daw 'yun, eh, di ba? Pag marunong kang magluto, nakakadagdag daw 'yun sa appeal. Now, yeah, I try to cook (Smiles) adobo, kare-kare, mga 'yon..."
20. When you have this world, how would you like people to remember you?
“As someone who went out of his way to help those in need of help. As a selfless person, someone who was sensitive to the needs of his loved ones, his friends, and.the people he came across from all walks of life in everyday basis, and someone who tried to find ways and means to be of aid to them. As an actor, as someone who did his best in this industry and someone who was very good in what he did and was very true to all the people that came across!”
